Founder Speech

Mayo Clinic and Aradhya FoundationThe foundation of our help is our donors. We see it as our duty to handle the donations entrusted to us for this purpose with care. Your donation goes where it is needed – to the children affected.

Because we are a non-profit organization, we are allowed to issue donation receipts for donations received and you can claim your donation as a tax deduction. To reduce administrative costs, we send out donation receipts for one year as a collective confirmation at the beginning of the following year.

Our work: 1st July 2024 to today

we have dedicated ourselves to a single topic, anchored in our statutes: Help for children with cleft palate deformity in countries where medical treatment is not – or not for everyone – a matter of course.

We have achieved a lot since we began our work. As a Help the people aid organization, we are internationally recognized, established and networked. Today, we are active in only Dhaka city. Through consistent educational work, we have been able to steadily reduce the average age of treatment. Given that an operation as early as possible is crucial for the further development of the children, this is a great success.

Extract from the statutes

  1. The purpose of the association is to promote healing options for patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies and defects as well as their societal and social integration in developing and emerging countries.
  2. The association pursues exclusively and directly non-profit and charitable purposes, including development aid in the field of health care.
  3. The association’s activities are not aimed at making a profit.
  4. Covering the costs of free or low-cost treatment of needy patients with cleft lip, jaw and palate […] including aftercare, especially for children and adolescents
  5. Strengthening general interest in working on and with cleft patients

Treatment of cleft (Specially Speech Therapy)

The most important part of the cleft treatment is a skilled surgery, which should take place as soon as possible after birth! So, act now!

If the lip and palate are affected, two surgeries are needed: The first surgery – to repair the cleft lip – at 4 to 6 months of age, the second surgery – for the cleft palate – at 12 months of age. Depending on the size and type of the cleft, more treatment can often be necessary during childhood and adolescence to treat remaining problems.

Further, comprehensive care like dental or orthodontic treatment as well as speech therapy is often required but can’t be offered in Bangladesh at the moment. Our cleft teams will provide detailed information about the treatment.

This website provides basic information only! For further information and in order to make medical decisions please consult one of our surgeons! The treatment is paid by our donors and free to you!

Act now

You, your child, or other loved one have a cleft lip and/or palate? Please call us now, the sooner the better!
